Rev. Bryce Ashlin-Mayo Lead Pastor Feeling God's touch on him since he was five, Bryce quickly felt the call to pastoral ministry after entering Bible College and working as a youth sponsor at a local church. The last several years, in a variety of positions, God has fulfilled his passions that go hand in hand with ministry: Vision, Preaching, and Leadership. Bryce and his wife Laurie and their three children, Nathanial, Sydney and Lucas, came to Parkview in 2008. As a family, they love their getaways to Kananaskis Country where God's mountainous panoramas inspire relaxation and facilitate fun family memories. Bryce also enjoys a good book or action movie, adventuring on the frontiers of home renovations or Vermilion's Golf Course and truly loves a good conversation. A true pastor at heart, he desires nothing more than to see people transformed by God's love and involved in the ministry that God has gifted them in, bringing the local church he loves to its full potential. Rev. Mike Schalin Youth & Young Adult Pastor Hailing from North Vancouver, BC, and proudly touting the Vancouver Canucks'colors, has not stopped Mike from embracing the good life on the Prairies. After interning at Parkview Alliance Church, Mike was thrilled to return to Vermilion as one of the Pastors, especially since this was the hometown of his wife, Cara. Mike loves spending time with Cara and their two sons Jude and Joel, hanging out with friends, playing squash and hockey (not at the same time) and watching films. Music is a big part of Mike's life as seen through his involvement in the Worship Team. Mike also leads Youth and Young Adult Ministries. His heart's desire is to see young people meet the God who created them and loves them in all their quirks and individual gifts, passions and personalities, and then to have that knowledge move them towards a growing relationship with God as they travel through the journey of life together in community with the people of God. Crystal Jackson The Edge Program Director Growing up on a farm with five siblings, Crystal comes by her love of people naturally: she's always looking for fun opportunities to hang out. Although she first came to Parkview with her family as a teenager, she has since made it her church home and is actively involved with the youth ministry. It's no surprise that Crystal has made working with young people her profession as well, both with the VIBE program here in town and at The Edge Youth Centre as the Program Director. Crystal loves to travel, especially with friends and to some place warm. Email Crystal

Florence Tovell Office Manager, Congregational Care, Small Groups Director Florence has attended Parkview with her husband Jim for 30 years but she originally hailed from the Yukon. They raised four children and are now enjoying four grandkids. She has been deeply involved in the lives of the people of this church for many years through her ongoing role as an administrator, which has grown naturally into ministries dear to her heart: women, small groups and care teams. Florence is quick to make any visitor welcome - her passion of caring for others is obvious. When she's not at Parkview, she's probably travelling somewhere warm - either to visit family or to engage in ministry - and enjoying some sunshine. Email Florence |
