Vision Check – “Imperfect People…”

As a follow-up to Sunday, January 11th’s message (Vision Check: “Imperfect People…”), the following are some questions to ponder and some suggestions to consider:

Questions to Ponder

  • Read Romans 3:23. What are the implications of this? What does it mean that we are imperfect? How do we war against that truth in our lives and what are the consequences of this?
  • Read 1 Timothy 1:15:17. Why does Paul confess that he is the chief of sinners? What does Paul profess about God? What does this say about God’s grace and mercy?

Suggestions to Consider

  • Reflect on the implications of seeing ourselves better than we ought and seeing salvation as something we can earn.
  • How has this affect your thinking and actions?
  • How does the Grace of God bring freedom and rest to our lives?
  • Journal each day about how your thoughts and actions are either a reflection or rejection of the truth in Ephesians 2:8-9 – “For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— not by works, so that no one can boast.”
